There's something quietly powerful about pausing to take stock. Not just of what we've built, but of how we've built it - the decisions made, the people involved, and the values that have guided us along the way. That's exactly what our first Impact Report sets out to do.
Publishing this report feels like a genuine milestone. It is our first structured attempt to look honestly at who we are as a practice, what we stand for, and the difference we're working to make - not just through our buildings, but through the way we run ourselves.
At the heart of this report is our identity as an Employee Owned Trust. Employee ownership isn't just a business structure for us - it shapes everything. It means every person in the practice has a genuine stake in our collective success, our culture, and our future direction. Decisions are made with care, with shared purpose, and with an eye on long-term impact rather than short-term gain. That sense of shared responsibility runs through everything you'll find in these pages.
We've always believed that the way a practice operates is as important as the work it produces. Over the past year, we've taken tangible steps to embed our values more deeply into everyday practice life - deepening our commitment to create architecture that is Ultrapractical and forever generous. Architecture that works hard for people, for communities, and for the planet.
Architecture doesn't happen in isolation, and neither does meaningful change. We've been active participants in broader industry conversations - from contributing to the UK Net Zero Carbon Building Standard to continuing to develop our work on material passports. We believe strongly in sharing knowledge openly, and this report reflects that spirit.
This is our first Impact Report — and we're proud of it, even knowing it's just the beginning. It gives us a clear baseline from which to grow, improve, and be held accountable. We hope it offers some insight into where we are, and a sense of where this journey will take us next.
